Thanksgiving Week and a BIG Announcement

Give me some love!

Hi everyone! Many apologies for the lack of posting. Things have been crazy lately. There’s a lot going on that I wanted to share with all of you readers. Unfortunately, It’s been so long that I barely know where to start. Chronologically speaking, we did our annual family photos, I received some exciting news, we celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday, and everyone got sick. So, I’ve got a lot to cover! Let’s dive in!

Family Photos

My co-worker does photography as a side-gig and he is amazing! His name is Cary. You can check out his page here. It was a real pleasure to work with him and he will be my go-to guy for family photos from now on! He took a TON of photos but here are a few of my very favorites.

Aren’t they beautiful? I am so obsessed with these! Go check out Cary’s page for more of his excellent work!!!

Thanksgiving Week

Yes, I’m going to make you read through all of this before I let you in on my BIG announcement. 😉 We had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to do much for Chase’s birthday because I had an ear infection and spent most of Wednesday at the doctor. However, I was determined not to let that stop us! He’s already had his party, but I wanted to do a little something fun for him. Wednesday night we took him to Target, let him pick out a toy, and went to Zaxby’s for dinner. On Thursday, his actual birthday, we let him eat birthday cake for breakfast before heading out for our marathon of Thanksgiving activities.

The first stop was my grandparent’s house, where he amused everyone by playing peek-a-boo with the French doors and showing off his new Thomas the Tank Engine. The next stop was my husband’s mom’s house. This was the big one. There was food everywhere. I ate way too much, of course! Finally, we headed to Allen’s dad/stepmom’s family. By this point, we had eaten way too much! Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we finally made it home.

More fun!

Friday, my best friend and I went on a marathon shopping spree! I found some great deals at Kohl’s and Target. When I got home, my husband felt left out so he and I headed back out and hit up the mall. We had a celebration dinner (more about that shortly) at Carraba’s and went BACK to Kohl’s again. When we finally got home, it was close to midnight. The baby was staying with grandma, so I took that opportunity to start decorating for Christmas. I stayed up WAY too late decorating but I still think it was worth it.

Saturday was one of the best days of the year to date! We gathered at my mother-in-law’s house to watch the annual IRON BOWL match-up and my team won! For the second time this year, we took down the number one team in the nation. Now, we’re headed to the SEC Championship game this Saturday. WAR EAGLE!

Unfortunately, my kid got sick on Saturday and by Sunday night we all had the stomach bug. UGH. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Now for the big announcement!

29 December 2017 will be my last day at my current job!!!!! I am starting a new career as a procurement coordinator at Boeing. While I met some wonderful people at Sanmina-SCI, I believe this is the best choice for my career and my family. I am very excited to join the Boeing team and I look forward to what the future holds.

So, that’s it. I’ve been holding onto this little nugget until everything was official. It’s been hard to keep this a secret!!!! I’m very excited to have finally broken into procurement and I’m honored to have been chosen by such a reputable company.

Thanks for reading. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Lots of love from my family to yours.
