KETO BIG MAC SALAD with RECIPE AND MACROS! EASY LOW CARB RECIPE
Low carb / Keto McDonald’s Big Mac recipe, you say? If you’re like me, you probably have mixed emotions when it comes to McDonald’s. On the one hand, you likely grew up eating that sh!t and associate it with happy childhood memories. On the other hand, you know it ain’t real food, doesn’t taste that great, and certainly isn’t good for you! But, fear not! This salad combines all the flavors of a big mac without any of the processed crap!
4 oz cooked ground beef (I added dried onions to the beef for that grilled onion Big Mac flavor)
1 cup spinach
2 cups “American” blend salad mix
1/4 cup shredded cheese
About 1/3 cup of sliced dill pickles
5-6 cherry tomatoes (I know big macs don’t have tomatoes, but they should! Omit for less carbs)
2 Tbsp Thousand Island Dressing (look for low carb varieties if available- I couldn’t find it)
.5 tbsp sesame seeds
a pinch of salt and pepper
Cook ground beef with salt, pepper, and dried onions, until browned. Add salad mix and all other ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well. Eat right away for best taste!
12 g net carbs. 43 g fat. 29 protein. Not shabby. Now, before you go complaining that 12 g net carbs is too many for you, go read my post HERE about Keto Negativity. 12 g net carbs is just right for me, because I do intermittent fasting and only eat twice a day. Also, the macro breakdown is right where I need it for my personal way of doing keto.
NOTE** Isn’t that funny how my macro tracker thinks I need 50% of my calories from carbs. LOL. I started to edit that out and then decided I’d leave it for humor. Silly standard American Diet.
There you have it! My Low Carb/Keto Big Mac Copycat salad. I’m telling you, this SH!T is GOOD. I am definitely going to start making this a lot. Pro Tip: Make the ground beef in advance so you can throw this together in a jiff.
