Weekly Weigh-In & Wake-up and Makeup with Colourpop

Give me some love!

It’s That Time Again

Here we go! It’s Saturday again! I was NOT looking forward to getting on the scale again today because I had (another) less than prefect week. It was month end at work and I used stress as an excuse to only hit my numbers about 50% of the week. However, I did do a little bit better at exercising.

I was also a little apprehensive about posting my weight so openly, especially now that I’ve shared this blog with my friends and family in real life. I mean, my grandma subscribed for goodness sakes! *waves* hi grammy! In the end, I decided maybe it’s the accountability boost that I need.

I’ve been feeling self-conscious about my weight, being overweight but I decided I shouldn’t be because I’m working on it! It’s not like I’m complaining about it and doing nothing to change it. So, there it is. I’m overweight; I’m annoyed about it but I’m working on it. Being overweight does not define me and I will fix it! This quote was found on sparkpeople and I love it!

I am not fingernails!!! 🙂

Let’s get right to it!

Last week’s weight: 169.2

This week’s weight: 167.8

Difference: -1.4 pounds!! Whoo hoo!

Starting weight: 202

Today: 167.8

Total weight lost: -34.2 pounds!!!!

I keep reminding myself that my goal is progress, not perfection.

Now for part two of today’s post:

Wake-up and Makeup with Colourpop!

One of the things I told myself I would give up now that we have a baby is prestige brand cosmetics. I love you Lorac but it’s over between us. I just CAN’T, in good conscious, spend $35 on bronzer. I’m a mom now! However, I still want to look great, what’s a girl to do?

Enter Colourpop. They are cruelty free, made in the USA, have lots of vegan offerings, and make highly pigmented shadows, bronzer, highlighters, liners, lipsticks and glosses. Best of all, items range from $5-8!!!!! One of my work besties gave me one of their super shock shadows and I decided to place an order.

They were offering $5 off your first order AND free shipping on $30. SO, I got 7 items shipped to my house for $30.Here’s what I got: 2 eyeliners, 1 eyeshadow, 2 lippiestix, and 2 sculpting stix. I am SO excited to see what it’s all about.

The colors I ordered are (from top to bottom) eye liner – piggy bank, eye liner – Best O, super shock shadow in Birthday Boy (limited edition, gift from a friend), super shock shadow in AMAZE, ultra matte lippiestix in Lumiere, ultra matte lippiestix in Trust Me, Sculpting Stix in adulting, and sculpting stix in venice.

The Low-Down

I will start out by saying I loved everything. The shadow gets five out of five stars. It is creamy, ultrapigmented and goes on with zero fall-out. I will never use another shadow ever again. The lippiestix also get five out of five stars. They are just as matte as they promise to be and really stay on, the colors are vibrant and it even lasted through me eating lunch. The sculpting sticks get four out of five stars, the adulting (dark) color is good but the highlighter (venice) is just kind of blah. It’s too matte. I like a tad of shimmer in my highlighter. I will try other colors in the sculpting stix though until I find the perfect shades. The eyeliners, sigh… three out of five stars. They both broke when I tried to use them. They are creamy and glide on perfectly, but what’s the point if they just keep breaking? Next time I’ll try the gel liner pots.

You can get your own at Colourpop – I definitely plan to order again. Next time, I want to try the highlighter powder and the brow pencils. In the photo below, I am using The Best O liner with Birthday Boy and Amaze shadows, Lumiere lippiestix and the Venice and adulting sculpting stix. I went for a more natural look today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try the bolder shades I bought. So there it is! Please note that I have not been sponsored or paid to write this post, this is my honest, unbiased opinion. (Although, if you’re out there reading, I’d LOVE to be sponsored by colourpop LOL)

And the verdict is… THUMBS UP! I am super pleased with what I got and can’t wait to try more.

Have an awesome Saturday!

You look beautiful Sheen! I never wear makeup any more but it’s one of those things I’d like to start doing for myself again! Im a bit overwhelmed thinking about where I’d start. Part of me just wants to go get a makeover and have someone tell me exactly what to get lol…making decisions all day for tiny people leaves me brain dead and just wanting someone to tell me what to do.
Also I’m super proud of you for putting yourself out there about the weight loss. Just an encouraging word: I fully believe it’s just much harder for some mommas to lose weight while breastfeeding. I didn’t lose a lot of my baby weight after B until after I started weaning. That makes me feel like there must be a hormonal aspect to it. It also helps me be patient as I work towards that pre-pregnancy weight. Babies change our bodies and it’s kinda hard to see but also amazing what our bodies are capable of and how they do bounce back!

Thank you for the encouragement Brit!!! I agree, tiny people can leave you so exhausted that making a decision for yourself seems like TOO much. Lol. wearing makeup is something I’ve only recently started doing again. I’ve made myself a promise to start trying a little harder to get my old self back. As for the weight loss, I KNOW you understand!! It’s been hard! I had read SO much that said the weight would just fall off with breastfeeding and that hasn’t been true for me. If I don’t eat enough, my milk supply tanks. If I eat a tiny bit too much, no progress! It is a fine line I’ve been walking but I’m FINALLY make steady progress. Thanks again for the warm words. I love you!
